Why it exists
Software entropy is the gradual degradation of software over time. It happens because software never sits still: the code changes, and so do the environments it runs in. As those changes stack up, a site gets harder to maintain and update, and the errors start showing.
And none of it requires you to do anything wrong. Your host forces a PHP upgrade, a plugin ships a breaking change, a license quietly lapses. The site drifts for a year while nobody’s watching it, and then it gives out on a day you needed it working.

Why it comes with the build
It’s how we stay the team behind your site.
Your site isn’t a theme we installed and walked away from. It’s custom software with a build process behind it. The source lives in version control, the assets are compiled, and changes deploy through a pipeline into an environment we configured. That pipeline is why we can ship a change in an afternoon instead of a week, and undo it just as fast.
Local, staging, and production run the same stack and the same PHP version. What we test is what ships, with no “works on our machine” surprises.
Changes go out through our build process, with a full history behind them. Nothing gets hand-edited over FTP, and code can be rolled back.
Your theme is custom software. We can only guarantee an update won’t break it if we can test it in an environment we control.
When something goes wrong there’s no round-trip between your agency and your host, each pointing at the other. It’s us either way.
So, the honest version
Not because we want to be your hosting company. There are cheaper ways to buy a server, and we’ll say so. It’s because we can’t stand behind a build we can’t reach. On infrastructure we don’t control, we’re guessing at the PHP version, we can’t deploy safely, and we can’t promise an update won’t take the site down. That’s not a relationship either of us would enjoy.
If you’re already locked into a host, say so early. We’ll tell you honestly what we can and can’t support there rather than find out the hard way six months in.
What’s included
None of it is exciting. All of it is the difference between a site that’s still working in five years and one that isn’t.
A stack we picked, tuned, and know cold.
Your site runs on infrastructure we chose and configured, not whatever came bundled with a domain purchase. SSL and caching are handled, we put you behind Cloudflare wherever we can, and we stand up a staging environment whenever there’s new work to preview.
Hardened up front, watched after.
WordPress is the most-attacked platform on the web because it’s the most-used one. We lock down the obvious doors: logins, file permissions, exposed endpoints. And we keep the surface small by not installing plugins we don’t need.
Kept off the server, so they survive the server.
A backup that lives on the same machine as the site isn’t a backup. If that machine is compromised or wiped, it goes with it. Yours are stored separately, on a schedule, and we’ve actually restored from them.
We find out before you do.
Automated checks run against your site constantly, and when it stops responding the alert comes to us, rather than leaving it for your customers to discover. Our committed hours are business hours; we sleep like everyone else, but we’re obsessive about the sites we build, so if something fires after hours and we’re available, we’re already on it. We’d rather be realistic and surprise you than sell you a 24/7 line nobody picks up.
Applied and checked, not blindly auto-run.
WordPress core, PHP, and every plugin move constantly. We know what your custom theme depends on, so updates get tested against it first. If one breaks something, we roll it back and fix it. You don’t find out from a white screen.
The paid tools, bundled in.
The premium plugins we standardize on sit under our group licenses. You don’t buy them, renew them, or get the expiry emails. They stay current and keep receiving security patches for as long as you’re with us.
Not a generic “plugins included” line. These are the specific tools we hold group licenses for, and what each one is actually doing for you.

A note on DNS. We put every site we can behind Cloudflare. It’s the setup we recommend and the one we’re fastest on. If your DNS can’t move there, we’ll still host and manage the site, but we can’t promise the same speed or the same protection. Cloudflare’s edge helps absorb attacks and serve your pages faster, before traffic ever reaches your server. We’ll do everything we can on our side. Whatever gap is left comes down to the setup you’re on, not the effort we put in.

Fair questions
Yes. The code and the content are both yours. What you’re paying for is the team that knows how it fits together, not permission to use your own website.
You can. It’s your site. But we’ll be straight with you: off our stack we can’t promise the same turnaround, and some of what’s described on this page stops being something we can stand behind. If you’re locked into a host, tell us early and we’ll talk through what’s realistic.
The monitoring is. Automated checks run against your site day and night, and the alerts come to us. Our committed hours are business hours, though: we’re a small team, not a night shift. But we’re obsessive about the sites we build, so if something fires on an evening or a weekend and we’re around, we deal with it. We’d rather tell you that plainly than sell you a 24/7 guarantee and hope you never test it.
No. New pages, new features, and design work are quoted separately at our normal rates. Pro Management is the opposite kind of work: recurring upkeep that isn’t worth running a timer against. We apply updates, verify backups, and work through monitoring across every site we host in the same passes, so handling it in batches costs less than any of us billing it by the hour. That’s why it’s one flat monthly instead of a stack of ten-minute entries on an invoice.
No. It’s month to month. We build every site expecting to be the team behind it for years, but that should come from the work being good, not from a term you signed.
You leave with the site: the theme source files, the database, your media, and the built theme already running on the server. What doesn’t transfer is our own repository and build tooling (that’s our internal workflow rather than your website), so picking it up means hiring a developer who can stand up their own build process around the source.
